Blaine Krauss
Blaine Krauss is a Tampa native who is best known for his five-year tenure with Hamilton, where he played the title role. He joined the company as standby for Alexander Hamilton, Aaron Burr, and King George III before stepping into Aaron Burr full-time and ultimately, the iconic role of Hamilton himself. Krauss appeared in the second season of FX’s Pose while performing on Broadway in The Cher Show, and starred as ‘Lola’ in Kinky Boots. He made his Broadway debut in the acclaimed musical Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812. His national touring credits include portraying ‘Simba’ in The Lion King, and he starred in the premiere production of the Radio City Summer Spectacular. A sought-after concert artist, Blaine performs with symphonies around the world and is a regular headliner at Feinstein’s/54 Below. His acclaimed solo show From the Soul earned him a Bistro Award for excellence in cabaret and nightlife performance. Krauss has been recognized on national and international stages. In 2011, he was a featured performer at the largest 9/11 commemoration outside the U.S., held at the Trocadéro in Paris. In 2010, he was honored as one of twenty U.S. Presidential Scholars in the Arts, an experience that included meeting President Barack Obama and performing at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. Additional highlights include serving as the Feature Vocalist for the U.S. National Archives July 4th Celebration and appearing at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. His regional credits include Godspell and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee at West Virginia Public Theatre; Evita, Into the Woods, Civil War, Make Me a Song, Chess, and Jean Valjean in Les Misérables. Blaine is a proud graduate of the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM).
