Hannah Shankman is a dynamic force on the musical theater stage, known for her powerful vocals, magnetic presence, and deep emotional range. She has wowed audiences across Broadway, national tours, and premier regional houses, including a Broadway turn in the 2014 revival of Side Show and going on as Elphaba in Wicked on Broadway. On the road she has played Eponine on the Les Misérables 25th-Anniversary National Tour and served as standby and dance captain on the national tour of the Tony Award–winning The Band's Visit, as well as touring with Rent. Most recently, Shankman took center stage as Fanny Brice in the national tour of Funny Girl, stepping into the starring role in September 2024 after joining the company as an understudy in 2023 and carrying the lead through the tour's close in April 2025. Her performance was lauded for its blend of humor, vulnerability, and commanding vocal prowess. Hannah is a force in shaping the future of performing arts in her native New York City, where she is instrumental in bringing new works to life on and off Broadway, in addition to her work at premier regional theaters all over the country.
