AJ Shively is a Tony Award-nominated actor best known for his work on Broadway, television, and prestigious concert and theater stages across the country. He earned Tony, Outer Critics Circle, and Chita Rivera Award nominations for his performance in Paradise Square, and a Drama Desk nomination for originating Jimmy Ray Dobbs in Bright Star alongside his Broadway debut in La Cage Aux Folles.
Off-Broadway, AJ received the Theatre World Awards' Dorothy Loudon Award and additional Drama Desk and Lucille Lortel nominations for Philadelphia, Here I Come! He won the Lucille Lortel Award for A Man of No Importance at Classic Stage Company. Regional credits span Arena Stage, Berkeley Rep, The Kennedy Center, Center Theatre Group, The Old Globe, Pittsburgh CLO, and the Boston Pops.
A graduate of the University of Michigan with additional training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.
